You have more power than you think.

Yesterday, I spoke to a friend recently who mentioned she felt anxious looking at people her age "killing it" whilst “she couldn’t".

Below is what I told her:

"The most exciting thing about tapping into your power is that you realise you’re capable of whatever you want.

​You want a specific position at work? Go and get it.

You want a specific body? Go and carve it.

You want a specific income? Go and make it.

You have more control of your life than you believe"

I genuinely think people don’t realise how much power they have within themselves.

This upcoming week, act like you have that power because YOU DO.

A better way to build a business.

I saw the tweet below and it inspired me to write this point.

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

There is a much smarter way to build a business and it's not what the tweet above says.

This smarter way can increase the odds of success drastically and is different to what a lot of entrepreneurs do.

But first let's understand how a lot of rookie entrepreneurs build a business.

Rookie entrepreneurs:

1) Think about a product that should exist in the world

2) Maybe do some research then build the product.

This is playing the game on level 1.

But what if you could play the game on level 10?

A level 10 way of playing the game is to think distribution first then work backwards to build the product.

Distribution first is where you find a specific channel to get customers that others haven’t figured out yet, then you build a product that caters to that channel.

Here are some examples:

1) Made By Mitchell Makeup was started by a 25-year-old and made $2m in a week all by leveraging TikTok Shop...yes you read that right!

2) Native Deodorant figured out Facebook ads earlier than others...they bootstrapped to a $100m exit after two years to P&G.

3) MVMT Watches sold for $300m in 4 years because they hopped on the IG influencer's hype very early.

So how do you implement this distribution first model?

1) Find underappreciated channels.

These are new channels that people haven’t understood yet or things that aren’t cool anymore but still have engagement.

For example, I think Snapchat Ads are a massive opportunity at the moment because everyone is moving to TikTok & IG.

2) Look at the opportunities that arise because of those channels.

What audiences are available that were previously not?

What new behaviour is on the platform that wasn't there before?

For example, a lot of Multi-level-marketing companies made a lot of money through Facebook Groups because suddenly they had a way to amass people who could also invite friends into closed groups.

This was how they recruited people offline and Facebook Groups provided them a way to do it at scale.

3) Test a bunch of products + services which cater to that audience until one works.

This is key. Your first idea likely won’t work but each “failure” is an experiment for the next idea and eventually, you succeed.

This method is a lot more strategic and cold-hearted than the fluffy "follow your passion" narrative we see online.

But I believe most of us are in business to make money.

And this increases your odds of making money.

As you brainstorm ideas for a business, think distribution first not product first.

How to build momentum.

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I’m still reading “You Become What You Think” and it hits every single time.

This paragraph highlights the importance of momentum.

How do you get momentum? You start small.

Then you use that small start to do something slighter and bigger.

Then in a few months, you go “Oh crap I’ve come soo far”

Don’t wait.
