CheatCodes: How to think about feelings, you only need to be right once, and reframing problems into challenges

How to think about feelings

“You have to think about your feelings because your feelings don't think.”

I heard this yesterday and it woke me up.

Too often we succumb to our feelings.

We FEEL sad so conclude we’re sad now.

We FEEL anxious so conclude we must be anxious.

But you have the choice to NOT be anxious or sad if you truly think about your feelings.

Think about the source of your feelings, then change them to what you want.

You only need to be right once

In the last few years, I’ve seen a lot of what I call entrepreneur porn.

What is entrepreneur porn?

It is where people are judging how successful they are based on how many businesses they have.

They’re doing something in real estate, also social media marketing oh and they also have an Etsy store.

And each of these businesses are doing...meh.

I was once this person.

At one point, I had 6 different businesses on the go.

A Shopify brand, a consulting agency, a social commerce brand, some kind of social enterprise, a blog, some other thing I can’t even remember ...

Even thinking about all of those is making my head hurt.

Until one day a mentor asked me...do you know that all the richest people got rich by doing ONE thing?

I felt like an idiot.

Everyone you know who got kinda rich... and in this case lets call rich £20m and above, did it by doing one single thing for a long enough period.

The reason why is very logical.

Effort compounds and wealth compounds.

If you have 6 different businesses and each day you’re working on something different, you’re not giving it the time to REALLY grow.

Also mathematically, let’s say you focus on one business doing £200k a month and you just improve that business by 10%, you make an extra £20k.

If you have many businesses which are all doing say £2k a month and you increase by 10%, you make £200.

The maths is not mathsing.

It’s sexy and exciting to start new businesses.

But the truth is it’s the boring that makes the money.

Remember, to get rich you only need to be right once.

When you find something that works, go all in on that 1 thing.

Block out the desire to do the sexy thing.

Your future bank balance will thank you.

Reframing problems into challenges

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Another quote from “Reframe Your Brain” .. I really really love this book so rereading it a second time.

One thing you can be sure of, life will always be full of challenges.

And how you perceive the challenges dictates whether you’ll overcome them or not.

Next time you run into a problem, loudly say “ooh a new puzzle to solve”.

It sounds weird but I bet you, you’ll feel better.

Keep Winning!
